Palo Alto Firefighters are involved in the local community in a variety of ways

Yes, we have a tradition of serving award winning chili at the annual Palo Alto Chili Cook-Off on the Fourth of July. More importantly this is a benefit supporting special activities and events in the Palo Alto Community.

You'll find us supporting a wide variety of local events, foundations, and programs too. From local activities, groups, teams to area attractions like the Palo Alto Art and Wine Festival. For the last several years, we've teamed up with Bloomingdale's and presented a charity fashion show at Stanford Shopping Center.
With you, sometimes we do something extraordinary.

Following the collapse of the World Trade Center in New York City on September 11, 2001, the personal actions of one of our firefighters to assist the families of the fallen firefighters. soon turned into a community wide benefit of selling T-Shirts assisted by the Palo Alto Fire Fighters, The Palo Alto Fire Department, The City of Palo Alto, Bloomingdales, and a wide variety of local media including newspapers and television, we were able to send $800,000.00 to the families of the fallen New York City Firefighters. As you can see, a few of our T-Shirts have even made it to Afghanistan too...
